Commerce and Economics Department

The Commerce and Economics Department was established in 2014 with a vision of providing excellence in the field of commerce by imparting quality and value-based education in this rural area of Punjab. The B.COM (PROF), plus one and plus two commerce were started. But the GNDU, Amritsar, has discontinued the course B COM (PROF), so B COM (Regular) was startedw.e.f. session 2015-16 in the college. At present in UG courses,the Bachelor of Commerce (Three-year degree course/ Four-year degree course) is running successfully.

Since its inception, the department's primary objective has been to equip students to respond to changing social realities through their holistic development. Over the years, the department has carved a desirable position in the field of commerce.

To make the students self-reliant is the motto of the department. To achieve this, various types of activities are organized for the students, like the Learn and Earn fest, Quizomania, and paper presentation in a seminar through PPTs. Besides this, the students of the department participate actively in cultural, social, and sports activities also. The results of the department are always excellent. Students secure remarkable positions in merit and distinctions in the GNDU, Amritsar, every year. The Commerce and Economics Department has persevered through challenges and brought laurels to the institution’s name.It has become possible due to the hard-working faculty of the department and the students. We believe that together we will uplift the department and college in line with the vision and Mission of the Department of Commerce and Economics.
